Beauty

It is the Feast of All Saints. On this day, their presence shines through in a preternatural tingling, peculiar to the season.

The leaves, still on the trees, shimmer with a thousand shades of gold as they linger, waiting, glowing in the sunlight suspended between Solstice and Equinox.

Off in the distance, clouds accumulate along the Divide, dark, swirling, looming, murmuring “Snow!”

Sunbeams stream angular, striking the ground at mid-morning, like an omen of breathtaking Infinity.

Consume me, Oh Beauty!

Show me what lies beyond this phantasm of perception. Embrace me in your Reality, never to return.

    1. Lori,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about your father and his remembrance on this feast day. What a blessing it is that we can continue to be in relationship with those who have gone before us in faith. The Communion of Saints shines through to us, reminding us that this world is not our home.

I am reminded of this quote:

“Nothing can give us a profound sense of the meaning of our earthly life and stimulate us to live it as a brief experimental state—as can an inner attitude of seeing ourselves as pilgrims.” – from A Moment’s Peace – John Paul II

      Thank you again,

      Randy
